Jacko's Bio

On Vocals, Andy Jackson, or Jacko as folks like to call him. He has the all important powerful voice that a rock frontman needs, but has been known to sing like Will Young when necessary :o).
Engaged to Annie, who is his rock and driving force, and has a Charlie (King Charles/Collie Cross) dog called Regan (Big Sweeney Fan ;o) ) and Foggy the big hairy cat.
Resident - North Hykeham near Lincoln
Occupation - Multi Faceted Vocalist
Hobby - Combustion Tech (I Burn Things) for a well known beet sugar manufacturer.
Influences - Rock, Funk, Punk, New Wave, Soul, Motown, Disco, Paul Rodgers, Gary Moore, Eric Clapton, Ian Gillan, Donald Fagen, Dan McCafferty, Bad Company, Free, Deep Purple, Roxy Music, The Stranglers, Bill Withers, Andrew Strong, Pink Floyd, Bad Whiskey & Will Young to name but a few, but it's very eclectic.
Jacko started singing at a tender age, and was listening to Deep Purple and Black Sabbath in the early 70's on his parents stereogram, but his first foray onto the rock scene came aged 15 as a trainee sound tech for a band called 'Fantasy' who toured the pubs and clubs of the Midlands and South Yorkshire at such glittering venues as the Eckington Miners Welfare Social Club and the Boston Gliderdrome.
His band history started as the lead singer for a punk band in the late 70's called 'The Flies' and then and electro pop duo 'Dilute to Taste' in the early 80's. He then took a job as an apprentice at a Lincoln engineering firm with a decent wage, which then led him astray with distractions such as girls and motorbikes, a very slippery slope.
He got back into vocals in 2007 after helping at a practice with a 10 piece Soul Band, which gave him a taste of singing again, so joined a classic rock covers band 'The Smokin Toads' over in Melton Mowbray and then he co-started the band Fe Fi Fo Funk a 10 piece funk/disco band spread between Notts and Lincs.
He spent a few months fronting the band 'Retake' with the guitarist Tony Tacon, Ian Gillan's old partner in his pre-Purple band The Javelins, Tony quipped 'The last lead singer I auditioned was Ian Gillan' No pressure there then!
Jacko puts every effort into getting the lyrics and the feel spot on to try and do justice to the songs he performs.
